The creativity that is involved in African adornment is quite fascinating. The imaginative talent that is first expressed before the stitches of a thread and a needle is enhanced gives a clear indication of the great deal of artistic skills in designing African wears.
When we prepare clothes here at Pee's Tailor and Fashion (PTF) for example, we are very meticulous in aligning the stitches, because we believe that each line of a thread symbolizes ideas or feelings that are so important to our amazing customers and the public eye. Apparently, it is sometimes seen that some pieces of designs do bear a few alterations from a standard, it is however a cunning way of communicating specific thoughts and ideas of the sense of skillfully improvising.
Society today has believed that one's adornment speak volume of him/her. Thus, a lot of us now wear Africanas, in order to show out our love for the continent. And often than not, we have seen how foreign people find it so comfortable, exciting and pleasant to be Africa adorned. Is it because of the finess of the fabrics, like the leopard skin in our catalog? or for the ease at which African wears can be worn and carry along, like our easy sleeves products in our catalog, or for the relative cheap purchasing like all our products? I guess that is not really the thing, other than the act of succumbing to the social behavior of the African societies.
Unlike some years gone by, we can now say we use Africanas for a varieties of events; including but not limited to; social functions, religious activities, official duties, etc. In Sierra Leone, a country in West Africa that houses PTF has long got Friday, as a special day in which Africanas are worn at the highest, and this has been an inherited practice, with so many perculiar advantages to it. Apart from the economic benefits that wearing Africanas bring, the passing of intrinsic values from generations to generations by its practice has got us to stability and appreciable sense of belonging.
